We've all heard the cliches about forgiveness, such as "Forgive and forget," "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission," and "To err is human. To forgive, divine," words that serve to amplify the uncertainty and misunderstanding surrounding one of God's most important gifts. As we'll see this Sunday morning, asking for and receiving forgiveness produces love. Perhaps best of all, the love produced by forgiveness has the potential to renew our relationships.
It's a busy four days before we gather for worship Sunday, but if you can, take time to read Luke 7:36 to 50 and discover Jesus' brick-through-the-window teaching on the power of forgiveness. See you soon,
Steve
