On Sunday, we welcome Matt Myers as our new Minister of Youth and Formation at HSPC! We can’t wait to see how God is going to use Matt in our church family. Matt has remarkable gifts for connection, teaching, listening, and a wonderfully deep knowledge of the spiritual disciplines. One of the things you discover in talking with Matt is someone whose life is deeply shaped by the love and goodness of Jesus. I’m so excited for his presence here at HSPC and all that it means for our future ministry together! I really hope as many families that can make it this Sunday to welcome Matt will do so! Matt’s spouse, Val, and two daughters will be joining him after the kids’ school gets out later in May. 

As for teaching, this week, we forge ahead in our new series in the book of Philippians. We’ll take a closer look at the “Christ-hymn” in Philippians 2, and attempt to understand together how these words were culture-shifting to the Church in Philippi (and our Church in Centralia), inviting them (and us) to a life grounded and formed in Christ.
