What's your response to this statement from Orthodox priest Stephen Freeman?
We live here on earth, the first floor, where things are simply things and everything operates according to normal, natural laws, while God lives in heaven, upstairs, and is largely removed from the story in which we live.
Do you disagree and laugh it off? Agree? Or, land somewhere in between?
Freeman's assertion is one we'll consider Sunday morning, when we look at how our view of reality colors everything - including how we see God, ourselves, and others. Whether we know it or not, we tend to see ourselves as in either a one-story world [where God is always here among us, always revealing and advancing the Kingdom] or a two-story model [where God is an occasional presence, but we're more or less on our own].
See you soon,
Steve
